About 150 non-essential stores will remain closed in France until at least the end of April. Until now, strict quarantine measures have been introduced in 19 departments of the country (mainly in the Paris area), however, since April 4, the rules apply to the entire territory of the country.
The amount of compensation that the French government will have to pay to its citizens in connection with the announcement of a new quarantine for a month will amount to about 11 billion euros.
French President Emmanuel Macron decided to introduce new quarantine restrictions in the country, because, in his opinion, the situation with the incidence of Covid-19 in France is getting out of control. “If we do not take action now, we risk losing control,” the Belgian national TV company VRT was quoted as saying.
