French manufacturers note a decrease in domestic sales and expect to improve the situation by exporting their products to other countries, Les Echos.fr reports.
According to the French Footwear Federation, the French footwear market, which amounts to about 9 billion euros, fell by 3-5% in the first five months of this year. French shoe manufacturers are trying to compensate for the decline in domestic sales by exporting shoe sales.
In particular, the market of Asian countries - China and Korea has recently become one of the promising markets for the export of shoe products for French manufacturers. In September, the French Shoe Federation is about to organize a global advertising campaign for French-made shoes in Shanghai. The expansion of French shoe brands into Asian markets is already noticeable, as the Arche shoe network has already opened 150 stores in China, and the JB Martin fashion shoe chain has 20 boutiques. Companies primarily rely on attractiveness and universal love for the “French style”.
