French shoe brand JB Martin, which celebrated its 99th anniversary this year, was eliminated in June by a decision of the Paris Commercial Court. After many difficulties that the brand experienced in recent years, it could not pass the quarantine test Covid-19. After the announcement of the court decision, company employees received letters of resignation, JB Martin's company stores stopped working.
In addition to its own retail, which included, among other things, corners in the Parisian Galeries Lafayette and Printemps department stores, the brand’s products were also presented in multi-brand retail (approximately 200 stores in France). Currently, brand-related activities have completely ceased.
JB Martin was founded in 1921 by Jean_Baptiste Martin. In the 70s of the last century, the number of employees of the company totaled 1200 people. The past 10 years have been difficult for the brand. In 2009, bankruptcy; in 2018, more than 100 positions were liquidated in the company. The latest annual turnover of the enterprise was announced in 2016 - 49 million euros.
