French conglomerate Vivarte has completed the sale of the Minelli footwear and accessories brand to businessmen Stéphane Collard and Laurent Portella, who also acquired the San Marino footwear brand in February 2020.
Founded in 1973, the Minelli footwear brand has been part of the Vivarte group since 1985. The Minelli brand belongs to the mid-price category and is represented in 14 countries, branded retail has 260 stores. Minelli had sales of 93 million euros last year.
The new owners of Minelli represent the combined group, which intends to become a French seller of leather shoes and aims to achieve annual sales of around 250 million euros. Logistics will be provided by the Log's group, which is also involved in this business.
The once large French conglomerate operating in the fashion market Vivarte has sold its brands in recent years to cover its debt obligations. In addition to Minelli, in September 2021, the company also sold the womenswear brand Caroll to the Beaumanoir group, which had previously acquired from Vivarte and the La Halle chain.
This completed the dismantling of Vivarte, the conglomerate will be liquidated, and the workplace protection plan for 34 headquarters employees will expire in December. The Vivarte company was founded in 1896.
