French invest in Lamoda

The French company PPR, developing brands Yves Saint Laurent, Puma, Gucci and Volcom, will invest 10 million euros in the Russian online store Lamoda.ru.

As it became known to the Vedomosti newspaper, PPR has become a co-investor of the Internet retailer by acquiring a stake in BigfootI, which owns Lamoda. The company will officially announce the deal next week. It is known that investments will be aimed at expanding the range, geography of Lamoda's presence, as well as the development of logistics services.

Lamoda is the largest online shoe and clothing store. The site contains over 250 thousand products. The catalog of the online store unites more than 700 brands of men's, women's and children's shoes and clothing. Starting in 2011, the project has successfully taken a leading position in the market. In March 2012, the company launched the Lamoda.kz project in Kazakhstan, becoming the first online retailer to enter this market.
