A tender for 12 million rubles has appeared on the government procurement website . The Federal Customs Service intends to commission a research project to study customs legislation in the field of online retail, as well as the development of a new regulatory framework for international e-commerce.
The document's preparation period is 7,5 to 10,5 months. The competition results are scheduled to be announced on November 28. The rapid growth of online commerce and its weak legal regulation have long been a concern for the agency. As a reminder , the Federal Customs Service has already proposed imposing a 10% duty on all online purchases made by Russian citizens from foreign online stores.
It is also likely that the FCS will develop a common strategy to change the legislation of not only Russia, but also the countries of the Customs Union.
