“In the first half of 2018, Detsky Mir Group of Companies showed excellent results in all business segments. We showed high growth dynamics of the business and achieved a significant reduction in operating costs, which allows us to expect an increase in EBITDA by at least 38% year-on-year in the first half of the year.
Consolidated unaudited revenue increased by 14,6% to RUB 24,1 billion in the second quarter of 2018. The company has successfully opened the sales season for the summer collection, significantly increasing the turnover in the categories "clothes" and "shoes". The highest growth was once again recorded in the online channel, whose revenues increased by 93,1% thanks to improved customer service.
The influx of new customers remains the main driver of the Company's sales growth, with positive dynamics recorded both in new stores and in stores operating for more than one year. The growth in comparable sales was (LFL) 6,1%, while the comparable increase in the number of checks reached 8,9%.
The dynamic development of the business and the stable financial situation, together with the difficult condition of many market players, made it possible to adjust the previously announced plan for the development of the retail network: in total, according to the 2018 results, the Company plans to open at least 100 supermarkets instead of the previously planned 70 stores. At the same time, we increased the medium-term forecast and plan to open at least 4 stores in the 300 year.
Within the framework of the territorial expansion strategy, Detsky Mir Group decided to launch the Detsky Mir chain of stores in the Republic of Belarus. The company's goal is to open its first store in Belarus next year and become a key player in the medium term.
