The French fashion house Hermès opens the École Hermès des savoir-faire leather craft school. The school, located in Fitilieu, France, is ready to welcome students who would like to improve their leatherworking skills.
The course is accredited by the French National Board of Education. According to representatives of the fashion house, training at the Hermès school gives not only a national diploma in leatherworking (CAP Maroquinerie), but also provides an opportunity to absorb the company's many years of experience, its know-how in the field of leather processing.
For more than a year, the student's progress will be closely monitored by experienced craftsmen at home, who will teach skills and give advice on preparing for and passing the CAP leather exams. Upon graduation, graduates of the School will be able to join one of the 19 Hermès leather workshops.
