Hey Dude is opening a country-themed store in Texas.
The once-Italian moccasin brand Hey Dude, acquired by Crocs Inc. in 2021, is gradually acquiring an American identity. The brand's first full-scale store, "Hey Dude Country," opened in Austin, Texas.
Crocs' current "relative"—both brands are owned by Crocs Inc.—has 75 outlet stores, but until now, it had never had a single full-fledged store.
Hey Dude brand president Rupert Campbell considers the brand's location, "very well-known for its music traffic" and the combination of old Texas and new, to be perfect for the brand, writes Footwearnews.com.
Hey Dude Country is located in a stand-alone building, a former store that has been renovated. The brand has largely retained the building's original façade, paying homage to the authenticity of old Texas, while the updated interior represents the new Texas.
The store occupies over 1000 square meters, significantly larger than its outlet stores, allowing it to offer the brand's full range of products for men, women, and children, as well as limited collections available only at the Austin location. The store will also offer items released online but not available at the brand's outlet stores.
