The II World Leather Congress “Present and Future” on November 9 on November 2011 will bring together about 300 specialists from all sectors of the industry related to leather processing in Rio de Janeiro.
The congress was organized by the International Council of Tanners (ICT), together with the management of the Couromoda shoe exhibition and with the support of the Brazilian government.
The Congress will touch upon several key topics: opportunities for the leather industry for footwear, leather for the automotive industry, ecology, new challenges in commerce, high fashion in leather goods.
The choice of Brazil for the congress is explained by the country's role in the global distribution of labor: Brazil is the second largest source of cattle leathers and the fourth largest producer of finished leather goods. The leather industry in the country is well structured and technologically provided.
The organizers are waiting for guests from Brazil, Spain, China, Great Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, Kenya, Uruguay, Turkey, the USA, Italy and Mexico.
Congress will be held at the Sofitel Hotel near the famous Copacabana Beach.
