The II World Leather Congress "Present and Future" on November 9, 2011, will bring together in Rio de Janeiro about 300 specialists from all sectors of the leather processing industry.
The congress was organized by the International Council of Tanners (ICT), together with the management of the Couromoda shoe exhibition and with the support of the Brazilian government.
The Congress will touch upon several key topics: opportunities for the leather industry for footwear, leather for the automotive industry, ecology, new challenges in commerce, high fashion in leather goods.
The choice of Brazil to host the congress is due to the country's role in the global distribution of labor: Brazil is the second largest source of cattle hides and the fourth largest producer of finished leather goods. The leather industry in the country is well structured and technologically advanced.
The organizers are waiting for guests from Brazil, Spain, China, Great Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, Kenya, Uruguay, Turkey, the USA, Italy and Mexico.
