The Russian authorities plan to strengthen control over goods imported into the territory of the Russian Federation from the EAEU countries that are subject to mandatory labeling. For this purpose, further integration of information systems of customs and marking is planned, - Kommersant writes with reference to the information received in the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT) and the Federal Customs Service (FCS).
Currently, technical solutions are being worked out, the full integration of systems should be completed before the end of the year.
As Revaz Yusupov, deputy general director of the CRPT, explains, “previously, the Federal Customs Service of Russia was not able to verify the accuracy of product labeling information, which allowed unscrupulous participants in the circulation of goods to import illegal products.” In particular, we are talking about contraband imported into the territory of the EAEU, which is then transported to Russia under a simplified regime. To solve this problem, the functionality of the information systems of the FCS and GIS MT is being finalized in order to also verify information about the identification codes of goods from statistical forms with information in the GIS MT. “Persons in whose statistical forms critical deviations will most often be detected by the system are potential objects for analysis and control,” the service notes.
It is noted that in 2021, the Federal Customs Service identified more than 5,3 thousand vehicles carrying more than 77 thousand tons of goods in violation of the legislation of the Russian Federation - of which more than 47 thousand tons were returned to neighboring states.
