Italy will transfer shoe production to Uzbekistan

Italian manufacturers intend to open the production of fashionable Italian shoes in Uzbekistan under the brand name "Made in Italy".

The Italian Association Confartigianato is promoting a project with the participation of shoe industry companies from the Italian city of Fermo. This project appeared on the basis of cooperation between the Uzbekcharmpoyabzali Association and the Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the aim of attracting Italian manufacturers of women's shoes to the country.

According to the Fermonotizie agency, marketing research carried out by Italian specialists in local markets in order to determine the price and value for money of women's shoes showed that in Uzbekistan there is not only a capacious domestic market for goods of the Made in Italy brand, but and good conditions for their production.

At the first stage, to effectively enter the market, it was decided to create a network of companies, and a comprehensive development plan was approved, which provides for checking the initial reaction of the local market to samples of leather products, footwear and leather goods, on 100% manufactured in Italy.

For the second phase of the development of this project, it is planned to directly involve a number of companies in Uzbekistan - members of the Uzbekcharmpoyabzali Association in the finishing and final packaging of products in the country.

Italians say that in the future, the created Italian-Uzbek joint venture will be able to produce up to 6 million pairs of shoes a year, both for the domestic market and for export.
