Italian exhibitions MICAM and MIPEL are changing the architecture of their exhibition spaces.

Italian international leather fairs MIPEL and MICAM joined forces following the COVID-19 pandemic to create synergies and address the challenges facing the industry. The organizers of the exhibition projects say the time has come to rethink this collaboration and create a new exhibition architecture.

To this end, the companies have invited the architectural firm Lombardini22 to develop a new layout for the combined exhibition spaces. The results will be presented in time for the MICAM & MIPEL exhibition in Milan in February (February 22-24, 2026). Incidentally, the event will coincide with the Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina.

Mipel will be located at the front of Hall 5 of the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition centre, giving it greater visibility and a more central position within the exhibition complex.

In the centre of Hall 5, there will be “M&M – The Hub”, a new space designed to host initiatives and projects developed in close synergy between Mipel and Micam, with the aim of offering visitors to both events an integrated experience.

The Micam Academy and the Mipel factory will be located within the Hub, a new space designed for continuous learning and networking, combining education, research, technical experimentation, and professional development.

The presence of the Italian Startup project, implemented in collaboration with the ICE-Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), has been confirmed. It will showcase a selection of promising Italian companies with high innovation and technological value. A dedicated product area will also be organized, offering a concise and curated overview of the key trends for the fall/winter 2026/2027 season.

"The partnership with Lombardini22 is strategic, as it will help us better present our trade shows. Our goal is to support companies in their growth and achieve greater international visibility, as trade shows are a powerful lever for internationalization. These events should enrich our business, promote Made in Italy products, and contribute to strengthening the global reputation of Italian leather goods companies for innovation, creativity, expertise, and quality," says Claudia Secchi, President of Mipel and Assopellettieri. "For Mipel, the move to Hall 5 is more than just a relocation: it is a commitment to a strategic and contemporary reimagining of our trade show, with a layout designed to create easily accessible and comfortable spaces for exhibitors and visitors, as well as a fast, clear, and engaging interaction with buyers."
