According to a survey conducted by the RBC Market Research agency, Kari, Detsky Mir and Unichel are the leaders in the ranking of network retailers in the Russian shoe market.
According to the study, the absolute leader in shoe retail in Russia is the Kari chain of stores, which manages the 962 store. In second place is the largest retailer operating in the segment of children's goods - Detsky Mir company, which includes 638 outlets in Russia. Then follows the Russian retailer Unichel, which manages 608 shoe stores. The same companies demonstrate a leading position in the number of cities of presence.
In total, the review analyzed the activity of about 12 700 chain shoe stores belonging to specialized and universal shoe chains, as well as the largest sports and children's retailers, in the assortment of which there are shoes.
Having studied their work, as well as the opinions and behavior of buyers, we can conclude about the main trends in the shoe market: the buyer has changed his attitude to domestic shoes and increasingly considers it to be of high quality, shopping centers have become the main sales channel, online channels and electronic commerce are actively developing, popularity is growing foreign trading floors. Moreover, men buy more actively there. In Russian online stores and offline networks, the main customers are women. They also demonstrate a greater interest in promotions and sales. Today, in the Russian footwear market, large network players feel the best. After analyzing the total revenue of the TOP-185 Russian shoe chains, marketers conclude that the share of these companies in the structure of the entire Russian retail footwear market is growing year by year. If in 2011, large shoe retailers occupied only 13,8% of the market, then by 2017, their share reached 34%.
