Investments in the construction of a shoe factory LLC Tula shoe enterprise, with a capacity of 10 million pairs of shoes per year, will amount to 1,7 billion rubles. The factory will employ about 500 people.
The agreement on the implementation of the production project was signed on February 15 at the Russian Investment Forum between the government of the Tula region and LLC Tula Shoe Enterprise. The document was signed by Governor Alexei Dyumin and the founder of the company, Vitaliy Ciobanu.
The new manufacturing enterprise will produce men's, women's and children's shoes made of genuine leather and artificial materials.
The factory’s products will be presented in the Kari retail chain, with over 800 stores in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Poland, and others. Currently, the bulk of the shoes sold in the Kari chain are Chinese-made.
Tula Obuv LLC, which is 99% owned by Kari, was registered in May 2017, according to the register. The main activity is shoe manufacturing. In 2017, according to Rospatent, Kari also filed an application for the Tula shoe enterprise trademark.
Representatives of the Kari company told the Shoes Report that they were not yet ready to comment on this topic.
