On January 17, designer Virgil Eblo presented his second fashion show for the Louis Vuitton brand, in which the main hit of shoes was the sneakers created in the collaboration of his own brand Off-White with a brand originally from Japan A Bathing Ape, writes Snobette.com.
At the heart of the model is the silhouette of the BAPE sneaker, which was created in 2002 and in turn was inspired by the Nike Air Force 1 model, where the Nike logo was replaced with a flying star pattern. The Off-White x A Bathing Ape has a black crocodile leather upper with contrasting white lettering in Helvitica font, which reads BAPE, Tokyo Japan © 1993.
The inscription indicates the year of birth and the country of origin of the BAPE brand, which appeared in Japan in 1993 with the light hand of the Japanese creative Nigo ne Tomoaki Nagao. In 2011, after the BAPE brand's retail network in Japan expanded significantly, Nigo sold the brand to the Hong Kong fashion holding IT Group for $2.8 million. For the first two years after the sale, the creator of the brand remained its creative director, but is no longer related to him.
