Kim Jones's last catwalk show for Dior, presenting the fall-winter 2025/26 collection, took place on January 24 with incredible pathos. A week later, Christian Dior Couture announced that its paths with Kim Jones were diverging, writes Fashion Network.
Before joining Christian Dior Couture, Kim Jones was the creative director of Louis Vuitton's menswear line from 2011 to 2018. He then spent time as creative director at Fendi, where he left last October. He has also been working at Dior Men since 2018.
It is noted that the current departure of Kim Jones from the fashion house Dior marks the first major change that Delphine Arnault has made to the creative component of the fashion house since she took over the helm of Dior two years ago.
“I am extremely grateful to Kim Jones, his studio and his workshops for the remarkable work they have done,” said Dior CEO Delphine Arnault. “With all his talent and creativity, he continues to reimagine the heritage of the fashion house with a genuine freedom of expression and surprising and sought-after artistic collaborations.”
Kim Jones is expected to be replaced at Dior by Irish designer Jonathan Anderson, the current creative director of Loewe. It is not yet known whether he will only take on creative direction or whether his responsibilities will be broader.
