Chinese workers from a shoe factory on strike

Workers at Stella International in China, who produce shoes for brands such as Nike, Kenneth Cole, Timberl, Prada, and others, are on strike.

The protests began on 8 in March at a factory in Dongguan in southeast China. Workers have put forward a demand to pay them housing compensation that they have not received for 8 years, and also to improve working conditions.

Protests continue, negotiations between the parties have so far failed. The actions of human rights defenders to return protesters to workplaces lead to the latter being wounded in the hospital.
