Deputies from three Duma factions - the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and United Russia - propose to collect a fee for the use of trademarks in advertising in Latin.
The corresponding draft law is included in the legislative base of the lower house. He proposes amendments to the Law "On Advertising", according to which "a fee is paid for the use of names and trademarks using the Latin script and names in a foreign language in advertising".
The procedure for its calculation, payment and refund of the paid amounts of this fee, as well as the size of the fee, are established by the Government of the Russian Federation, the draft law says.
To pay such a fee, in accordance with the provisions of the draft law, legal entities and individual entrepreneurs must use trademarks using the Latin script and names in a foreign language to advertise goods and services produced by such persons.
Deputies suggest, when establishing such a fee, to take into account the size of the proceeds of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs received from the sale of goods and services using names and trademarks using the Latin font and names in a foreign language.
