Half of the footwear produced in the world by 2035 will contain composite materials that increase the lightness and durability of products, - such a forecast was made by the head of the laboratory of the Competence Center of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) "Digital Materials Science" of the Moscow State Technical University. N. E. Bauman Vyacheslav Seleznev.
The expert announced this during a speech at the Technoprom forum in Novosibirsk, which is held from August 23 to 26. According to him, now composite materials are used in the production of only 5% of footwear and overalls.
He noted that aramid fiber is already used in shoes and gloves for builders today, and composites are also used in some types of sports and tourist clothing. So far, such materials are more expensive than traditional ones, raising the prices of products. Over the years, their availability will increase, and the choice of products improved due to new components will expand.
