Counterfeit boots flooded Primorye
The number of "gray" shoes in the region has grown significantly.
Leather boots are one of the most popular smuggled goods in Primorye. This was announced by 24 in January at a press conference on the results of the DVTU in the 2010 year and prospects for the 2011 year, said the head of the DVTU Sergey Pashko.
According to him, footwear products occupy one of the leading positions in the import group. At the same time, they often try to pass leather shoes out of leather substitute shoes, and the customs are trying to fight this. For leather shoes you have to pay a higher fee than for shoes made of leatherette.
“A high-quality examination of shoes is carried out by a branch of the expert forensic service, this allows us to quickly identify fakes and contraband,” said Sergei Pashko.
According to the Far Eastern Customs Administration, among the identified counterfeit goods, a large share is occupied by UGG and ECCO brands. Their fakes are imported most often.
