On July 3, at the Grand Palais of Paris, a chanel fall-winter 2018 / 19 couture collection was shown. The show was held in the scenery of the Seine river embankment. The main place for Parisians to walk is an ideal place to showcase fashionable shoes, says Karl Lagerfeld, brand creative director.
Remember the small bookstores on the banks of the Seine River in Paris, these were exactly the ones that were depicted on the scenery of the last Chanel show, and models showing the haute couture collection walked past them. On the contrary, it was as if spectators were sitting in a city cafe, including the current ambassador of the Chanel brand, Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz, Farrell Williams, Katie Holmes and Lily-Rose Depp.
Although the Chanel brand has always been associated with its classic shoes with a contrasting nose, Lagerfeld has already managed to introduce other more modern models, such as ankle boots, into the DNA of the brand.
Working with shoe designer Laurence Dacade, the designer created a simple model of ankle boots with a slightly convex heel, with a heel slightly higher than the “shot glass” heel, with a wide lapel. The top of the ankle boots is laconic black or white, or, on the contrary, motley, decorated with various finishes - appliqués, beads, sparkles.
