The new creative director of Lacoste is former designer of the fashion brand Josef, Louise Trotter. This is the first woman to be the creative designer of the brand for all 85 years of its existence.
She will show her first collection for the Lacoste brand fall-winter 2019 at the Fashion Week in Paris. In a press release, Trotter said she is delighted to be joining a French brand with a unique heritage. “For 85 years, the modernity of Lacoste style has been achieved by combining sports and fashion styles. I am proud to write another chapter in the history of the brand, ”she says.
Louise Trotter spent 9 years at Josef and left the company early last summer. At Lacoste, she will have to take the helm of a company that has invested heavily in promoting the brand on the runways for the past 8 years, showcasing the excellent work of its creative directors (Philippe Olivier Baptista and earlier, Christophe Lemer). However, it seemed that these products rarely reached retail shelves, and everything looked like beautiful rallies without a prize, writes Vogue.
Lacoste Group President Thierry Giber said: “We are pleased to welcome Louise. We appreciate her visionary approach to lines and materials, as well as her experience in creating high-tech products will be a real advantage to strengthen the positioning of our collections. ”
