French sportswear brand Lacoste has parted ways with its creative director, Louise Trotter, who has been in the position for the past four years. Thus, the spring-summer 2022 fashion show, held at the Tokyo Palace in Paris in October 2021, was the last Lacoste fashion show with the participation of Trotter, writes Fashion Network.
It is noted that Lacoste does not intend to look for a replacement for Louise Trotter as creative director, but announces a new stage in the development of the brand, in which a “creative studio”, that is, a team of designers, will be responsible for the release of collections. Like the Moncler brand, Lacoste will allow different designers to interpret the brand's DNA in their own style. This approach not only brings something new to the collections, but also creates an event around their launch.
“I would like to thank Louise Trotter for her creativity, her commitment and her contribution to the brand's legacy. Lacoste is now embarking on a new chapter as the creative team strives to work alongside Lacoste to share talent and connections,” explained Lacoste President Thierry Guibert.
Last May, the French brand opened a 1600-square-meter boutique on the Champs-Élysées; Lacoste has 1100 points of sale in 98 countries. The company does not disclose its financial figures, but the management of the MF Brands group, which includes Aigle, Gant, Tecnifibre and The Kooples in addition to Lacoste, has exceeded 2 billion euros over the past four years.
