Fashion retailer Lamoda has opened a new online store for clothes, shoes and accessories in the Republic of Belarus. Lamoda.by online store includes more than 2 000 000 products. The site features over 1 000 brands: Nike, Adidas, DKNY, Ash, Kira Plastinina, Only, Vero Moda and many others.
According to Florian Jansen, co-founder and managing director of Lamoda, the decision to enter the Belarusian market is due to the high growth rates of e-commerce in the country and the relative underdevelopment of the fashion segment of local online retail. According to J'son & Partners Consulting forecasts, until 2017 the Belarusian e-commerce market will grow by 18% per year. By 2014, 64,5% of Internet users in Belarus, which is about three million people, already have online shopping experience.
“The primary goal of Lamoda.by is to increase customer loyalty through high-quality service,” said Florian Jansen.
From the first days of the new online store in Minsk, its own delivery service LM Express was launched. In the rest of the country, there is an expedited courier delivery by Belpochta.
Lamoda is an Internet project created in 2011 with the support of investors: Rocket Internet, Tengelmann Group, Holtzbrinck Ventures, Investment AB Kinnevik, JP Morgan Asset Management and PPR Group. It is headed by five managing directors: Niels Tonsen, Florian Jansen, Burkhard Binder, Dominik Picker and Nils Chrestin. Today the company employs over 2 people. The company has its own courier service, Lamoda Express.
