In the first weeks of July, the Mila - Wholesale Shoes company recorded a decrease in sales of school shoes in bulk, which amounted to minus 38% compared to the same period of 2011. Interest in demi-season collections fell by 52%.
Specialists from the Urals wholesaler report that this situation is a result of last year’s failure of consumer demand, which resulted in large remnants of school and demi-season shoes in all parts of the distribution chain. Nevertheless, it is obvious that these stocks are not enough to cover the current demand, so replenishing the assortment with fresh models remains relevant, given that there is not enough time before the onset of the season.
“So far, only large shops have bought school shoes in bulk on strategic applications from presentations. Owners of small outlets are not very active. This speaks of delayed demand, which means that seasonal races for goods are inevitable, ”said Alexander Borodin, manager of Mila - wholesale shoes.
