Summer is the time to deal with leftovers

Most Russians will not go anywhere in the summer and spend their holidays at home or in the country. These are the results of a study conducted by VTsIOM. And this is a big plus for retailers. As the May holidays showed, consumers who refused foreign trips finally paid attention to shopping. Many players reported that May showed improved sales after months of stagnation.

In order to extend the spring revival effect, shoe retailers have decided to open the summer season with new sales and special offers. Ralf Ringer announced discounts ranging from 20 to 50%. The Rendez-vous chain of stores will sell shoes at a 23% price reduction throughout June. The main discount of the sale - 13% - will be summed up with a 10% discount on the discount card for new customers. In the Kari shoe store chain, the sale with discounts up to 40% took place only for two days - on May 30 and 31. Carlo Pazolini also held a week of special prices right before the beginning of summer - discounts on some models reached 20%.

According to Daria Nuclear, managing director of the international consulting company Esper Group, such actions will allow retailers to reduce the appalling size of product balances, albeit with a margin close to zero.

Despite a small surge in sales, market stagnation continues - the goods still cannot be sold at full price. Accordingly, you should not order too much product for the fall, the expert said. Moderation is the best strategy at this difficult time.
