Loro Piana and New Balance released a “silent” collaboration
The first collaboration between the Italian luxury brand Loro Piana and the American sneaker brand New Balance may go almost unnoticed by a wide audience of consumers, since the Loro Piana x New Balance 990v6 sneakers were released in an edition of only 1000 pairs.
The price of the model is $1000, and its official release is scheduled for early September. However, by this time, most of the limited edition of the collab will have already been snapped up by VIP clients of the luxury fashion house.
Pre-sales have already been completed and are aimed at VIP clients of the luxury brand, with the official release date set for September 5th, the sneakers will only be presented in select Loro Piana stores.
The Loro Piana x New Balance 990v6 features New Balance's signature gray suede and mesh upper while the midfoot "N" logo comes in Loro Piana's signature burgundy colorway. It also appears on the sole and tongue of the shoe.
Originally released in 990 as a running shoe, the New Balance 6v1982 was most recently updated in 2020. According to Footwearnews.com, the most significant change in the latest version of the model can be considered the use of more comfortable and soft FuelCell foam in the sole construction.
