Louis Vuitton accuses Hong Kong shoe company Belle of plagiarism

French luxury home Louis Vuitton has sued major Hong Kong company Belle International, accusing it of copying the design of one of its sneaker models.

Louis Vuitton claims that the sneakers released by Belle in July 2018 are an imitation of the Archlight trainers sneakers from the Louis Vuitton spring-summer 2018 collection. The French luxury brand sued the Hong Kong shoe company.

In a short appeal, Louis Vuitton asked Belle to discontinue this model and remove the sneakers from sale.

For the price, Louis Vuitton and Belle sneakers differ quite a lot. The LV Archlight model in July 2018 was priced at 7 700 RMB (about 1 000 Euro or $ 1 120); and Belle International sneakers model cost no more than 598 yuan (about 77 euros or $ 87).
