Luhta Sportswear Company became the official representative of the Austrian shoe brand Dachstein

The Finnish Luhta Sportswear Company acquired a stake in Dachstein Outdoor & Lifestyle GmbH and became the official representative of one of the oldest Austrian footwear brands Dachstein.

The Austrian brand Dachstein was founded in 1925 in the heart of the Austrian Alps in Salzburg, as a family-owned company manufacturing strong and reliable shoes for traveling in the mountains. Throughout its existence, the brand's main ridge has remained modern, high-tech leather shoes of various designs with breathable inserts, cordura seals and Vibram soles, as well as using eco-friendly eVent or DryDS membranes.

Dachstein shoes are especially popular and revered among tourists and climbers. For two consecutive years, Dachstein models received prizes from international exhibitions, ISPO and Friedrichshafen Outdoor. Today, Dachstein is proud of its technology, and also successfully applies the technology of world leaders: Gore-Tex and Vibram.

“The Dachstein brand will organically complement our portfolio of shoe brands,” say the Luhta Sportswear Company (Luhta, Icepeak). “With its acquisition, we are expanding our portfolio of urban footwear, winter and outdoor footwear brands and are entering a new segment for ourselves - expeditionary footwear.”
