French luxury footwear and accessories brand Clergerie is renovating its factory in Romans-sur-Isere. The company is investing in equipment to produce state-of-the-art footwear and wants to keep its production site in France, says Les Echos.
“Our goal is to move towards Factory 4.0 with the introduction of an intelligent system capable of self-assessment and self-correction, which is a decisive factor for globalization trends to work for us,” says Jérôme Espinos, president of the French Legacy Group (FLG), the parent company of Clergerie. .
Representatives of the brand do not name the amount of investment in modernization, the completion of work is scheduled for 2025. The Romans-sur-Isere factory employs 129 people, of whom 84 work directly in production.
The measures taken are expected to support sales of the Clergerie brand and other Avril Gau and Violet Tomas group brands, which will be produced at the Romans-sur-Isere factory. Men's shoes under the brand Heschung, which was acquired last year by the funds of the French Legacy Group (FLG), will continue to be made in Alsace. The Group aims to achieve total revenue of EUR 50 million within five years.
