Next week, Manolo Blahnik will open a refurbished space at Japanese luxury department store Hankyu Umeda. Located in trendy Umeda, the 753-square-meter store will feature the London brand's men's and women's collections in the same retail space for the first time.
The retail interiors were designed by long-time Manolo Blahnik architect Nick Leith-Smith, who, together with brand founder Manolo Blahnik and CEO Christina, comes up with an original concept for each location.
The interiors of the new Manolo Blahnik store in Japan were inspired by the work of the German architect, founder and director of the Bauhaus, Walter Gropius, and the French interior designer Jean-Michel Franck. The boutique looks like a modern living room. Minimalism goes hand in hand with warm colors. Tones of blue in combination with the color of maple and honey are present in the style of decorative furniture, the checkered carpet on the floor complements the image.
Christina Blahnik stated that she is "delighted" to open a larger space at Hankyu Umeda in collaboration with the brand's longtime partners, The Bluebell Group. This is the 13th store opened by Manolo Blahnik in partnership with the Blubell Group in Japan.
