Mastercard will allow you to pay for your purchase using the "selfie"

The American giant is preparing to launch a new option that allows customers to make secure purchases using "selfies".

The principle is similar to fingerprint recognition, which is used on the iPhone, where the fingerprint is used for payment. Mastercard develops this idea using face recognition technology built into a large number of mobile applications.

By scanning and analyzing a customer’s photo at the time of purchase, this technology will help to avoid fraud by virtually verifying the identity of the person.

The project will be launched in the USA. It will work thanks to a simple digital face analysis application built into the smartphone. The buyer will only have to take a "selfie" at the time of purchase.
