The organizers of the MICAM international footwear show, which took place last week in Milan, noted that the number of buyers who arrived at the event this session increased by 25% compared to the number of visitors of the previous exhibition, with about half of the guests arriving at MICAM from abroad. , writes Worldfootwear.com.
The 95th edition of MICAM Milano and its sister fairs MIPEL, TheOneMilano and HOMI Fashion & Jewels, which took place at Fiera Milano and ended on February 23, brought together more than 1 exhibitors in total. The number of visitors to the exhibitions amounted to 800 people, which is 48% more than in the previous session of the exhibitions.
Event organizers emphasized that about half of the buyers came to MICAM from abroad - Germany, France, Great Britain, Greece and Spain, as well as from South Korea, Japan and Kazakhstan.
In addition to networking and business opportunities, visitors were able to take part in several initiatives focusing on issues such as sustainability, innovation and trends. But the role of education in training in the industry took center stage and the main focus was on the event "Training, Orientation, Competence Certification: Confindustria Moda, Rete TAM and Unioncamere for Talent Growth".
The events were also attended by representatives of the Italian government, such as Ministers Daniela Santanche and Matteo Salvini, Deputy Minister Valentino Valentini, Undersecretaries of State Lucia Albano and Paola Frassinetti, as well as many representatives of local institutions. They “reminded the importance of working together as a system that includes all sectors represented at the fairs, the unique qualities of Made in Italy products and the central role of education and training in a country's competitiveness.
The next MICAM Milano, Mipel and TheOneMilano will take place from 17 to 20 September 2023, while HOMI Fashion&Jewels will take place as usual from 15 to 18 September 2023, all at Fiera Milano (Rho).
