Mila has summed up the results of wholesale children's footwear sales for the first two months of this year. The key trend is two sales peaks per season.
So, the company noted an annual growth in demand for boots on a bike, first in February, then in mid-March. Such a schedule is due to the time difference between preparations for the season in wholesale and retail, explained representatives of Mila.
As a result, a deferred demand for boots on a bike was recorded in 2014 - there was no peak in February sales, however, in March wholesales are growing at an accelerated pace and, according to experts, will fill the missing volumes in February. So, already now the lag behind the forecasted sales of footwear on a bike is observed only by 7%.
A similar situation was noted for other seasonal groups of goods, for example, rubber boots. At the moment, sales of rubber boots are already above forecasts by 12%.
“The beginning of the retail season is mid-March, when some entrepreneurs feel a shortage of individual models and re-purchase them from wholesalers, while others, after waiting for the arrival of a buyer, are just starting to buy. As a rule, the sales volumes in February and March are practically the same. However, this year the strategy of many stores has changed, and they began to purchase directly before the season in retail, especially since many of them are convinced that the goods are always available in the warehouse of the regional distributor and you can take your time with the purchase, "said the manager of Mila - Shoes wholesale "Alexander Borodin.
