Milan Fashion Week Reveals Key Footwear Trends

The Milan Fashion Week that has just ended presented a huge variety of women's shoe models. However, several clear trends have emerged. Shoes continue to gravitate toward small heels, such as the five-centimeter "cat" heel, as well as flat soles; many fashion houses have included various models of flip-flops in their collections; in the spring-summer 2025 season, brands were inventive in design and positive.

The most spectacular models were mules decorated with glass flowers in the Bottega Veneto collection and shoes covered in multi-colored stickers from Moschino.

At the same time, Bottega Veneto continued the theme of woven uppers in both shoes and bags in the shoe design, and also relied on a streamlined shape and square toe in the models of shoes, open sandals and ankle boots, smooth patent leather enhanced the impression of the silhouette and made the color brighter. It is also worth noting the cute fur pumps with a fluffy tongue-tail in a delicate gray-blue color.

Roberto Cavalli presented original, woven, as if from straw, flat sandals in his collection.

And the Italian Ferragamo got carried away by the ballet theme, a love for which can be traced throughout the brand’s history, and released a new version of ballet flats with a pointed toe and ribbons; in another model, the same silhouette came with a fluffy fringe frill.
