30 million pairs of domestically produced shoes are sold in Ukraine annually

In Ukraine, 30 million pairs of domestic footwear are sold annually. This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by the president of Ukrkozhobuvprom, head of the Ukrkozhprom Association, Oleksandr Borodynya.

“In Ukraine, at least 30 million pairs of domestic shoes are sold annually. But many of the one and a half thousand enterprises operate according to a simplified taxation system, where there is no detailed reporting on physical indicators. Therefore, part cannot be taken into account by statistics, ”said Borodynya.

In addition, according to him, in Ukraine in 2010, 24 mln pairs were produced, of which 11 mln were exported both according to the so-called tolling schemes and direct export. Other implemented in Ukraine.

However, Borodynya noted that 24 million pairs is an insignificant part of the maximum volume of the shoe market: “The capacity of the Ukrainian shoe market is about 160-170 million pairs per year, 3-4 pairs annually per person. At the same time, the main income of the Ukrainian shoe industry comes from sales in the autumn-winter period, ”writes RBC-Ukraine.
