The Government will consider the possibility of introducing a recycling fee for imported shoes in Russia on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, a list of instructions following the meeting on the development of light industry, which is published on the Kremlin website, testifies to this initiative.
On behalf of the President, the issue of introducing a recycling fee for shoes should be considered before November 20. The proposal to introduce a recycling fee for shoes was made by the head of the Russian Union of Tanners and Shoemakers, Alexandra Andrunakievich.
It is assumed that this measure will contribute to the fight against low-quality imports of shoes that come to Russia from China. Speaking at the meeting, Andrunakievich noted that today about 80% of shoes sold in Russia are imported. At the same time, 65% are products made of low-quality synthetic materials at a price of 4,5 dollars per pair.
Finance Minister Anton Siluanov proposed to consider the possibility of introducing a recycling fee not for all imported shoes, but only for a cheap segment, since such shoes may not meet environmental standards and, as a result, are harmful to health.
