According to Alexei Fedorov, president of the Association of Internet Commerce Companies (AKIT), the beginning of 2017 turned out to be better than the beginning of 2016 in terms of online sales. There is a slight revival of consumer activity.
Speaking at the forum “Russian retail. Global Challenges and New Opportunities in 2017, ”Alexey Fedorov noted that last year the e-commerce market did not fall in Russia, although the expected surge in sales did not take place in December. “Almost all retailers planned growth of 25% in the New Year period. However, December turned out to be quite ordinary, while January did not fall, ”he said.
Fedorov also noted changes in consumer behavior, in particular - the rejection of impulse purchases. Today, the buyer, before deciding on a purchase, is trying to compare prices for similar products on the Web.
