Ural wholesaler recorded a decline in demand for boots without lining

The company "Mila" - wholesale footwear "recorded the intermediate results of sales of winter boots made of felt. The results showed that the decline in demand for felt boots without lining, which began in 2011, continued this season, reaching a peak.

The demand for this type of shoe went into decline in nursery, small children and preschool subgroups. For example, last year's sales of unlined boots, equal to 18,5 thousand pairs, today fell to 12,3 thousand. At the same time, there is a general increase in volumes equal to 2%.

Specialists of the Ural distributor note a proportional shift in the preferences of buyers of children's shoes towards felt boots lined with natural wool, sales of which have already reached 20,5 thousand pairs, which exceeds last year's volume of this type of shoe by 53%.

“Previously, buyers only looked closely at this group of goods, and manufacturers produced it in limited quantities. Now felt boots on wool almost completely cover the subgroup. Some lag in total sales volumes is due to deferred demand. There is an oversupply of goods in the market. There is no excitement and shortage in its pure form, and our partners purchase the necessary products as needed. Sales of felt boots in bulk will last until December 1, 2012 and we expect to at least catch up with the indicators of 2011, "commented the manager of Mila - wholesale footwear" Alexander Borodin.

Among the rating suppliers of children's felt boots, Kotofey is traditionally the leader with a share of sales equal to 90% of the total volume. This year, the assortment of boots of the brand has been updated by 50% and increased by about 70%.
