Due to the fact that no end to quarantine measures taken during the coronavirus epidemic in European countries is yet visible, summer Fashion Weeks in Paris, Milan and London have been canceled or postponed.
The Board of Directors of the High Fashion Federation announced on Friday that the Paris Men's Fashion Week, previously held from June 23 to 28 and the High Fashion Week, which was scheduled to be held from July 5 to 7, will not take place on the indicated dates.
“The Federation is working on finding alternatives,” the group said in a statement released Friday.
Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana also announced that Milan Men's Fashion Week, scheduled for June 19-23, before Paris Week, will be moved and merged with City Fashion Week in September 2020.
The Italian organization said it was working on alternatives for digital fashion shows, which should take place on the previously designated dates of Milan Fashion Week, so that the shopping season remains on schedule.
Also, the British Fashion Council, that there will be no planned men's fashion shows in June, and that "the organizers are looking for new ways to digitalize the fashion show platform."
The cancellation of events occurred on the day when France extended the quarantine in the country until April 15, as the death rate from coronavirus in this country reached record levels.
