Nike will test HP 3D printer

The world-wide office equipment giant, HP, has unveiled its first HP JET Fusion 3D printer, which delivers the highest quality physical parts 10 faster than existing 3D printing systems and costs half as much. Sports shoes and apparel manufacturer Nike said it intends to use the Jet Fusion 3D printer to produce 3D-printed prototypes of its shoes.

Last year, Nike patented its own technology for producing 3D printed shoes. And a couple of months ago I made a prototype of sneakers for the Olympic champion Allison Felix.

However, the HP novelty interested the company in that it allows printing functional parts at the level of individual voxels (a voxel is the 3D equivalent of the 2D pixel in traditional printing), that is, it makes it possible to easily change the properties of parts and perform individual settings on a large scale. Thus, users of HP JET Fusion take control of the modeling process and endless combinations of colors, materials and applications.

Two industrial printer models called the HP Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solution (3200 and 4200) will hit stores by the end of this year - early next. The cost of the printer will start at $ 130.
