Nike launches online virtual sneaker store

Nike will open an online store and Swoosh platform to present virtual sneakers, users will be able to collect virtual models of the brand, and integrate digital items into video games.

The platform will be available to users on November 18, and Nike will present its first full-fledged collection of digital goods in January. Last year, Nike acquired NFT-studio RTFKT and a few months later already introduced the first joint virtual sneakers. And after that, she launched a collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, which resulted in a virtual pair of Nike Air Force 1 "Murakami Drip" sneakers. The price of an NFT pair is 0,53 ETH, which is $813.

The company plans to place on the platform showcases of athletes who collaborate with Nike and does not exclude the involvement of third-party designers to develop virtual products.

Nike is one of the biggest brands actively investing in the META universe and making money from NFTs. According to analysts, NFT sales have already brought Nike $185 million, of which $93 million came from initial token sales and $92 million from royalties from resale transactions.
