Nicholas Kirkwood introduced felt and transparent nappa shoes

A new collection of shoes by British women's shoes designer Nicholas Kirkwood was first shown at Paris Fashion Week. Ankle boots and shoes appeared as real works of art. They have both painting and architecture and music.

The main theme of the fall'18 collection was the use of a combination of knitted and marble felt and embroidery with woolen thread at the top of the shoe. Nicholas Kirkwood felt ankle socks are handmade. According to the designer, the creation of one such pair takes a whole day.

The collection is inspired by the style of the heroes of the grunge 90's, such as the leader of the American group of experimental rock Sonic Youth Kim Gordon or the bassist of the band Smashing Pumpkins Darcy Wretzky (D'Arcy Wretzky).

“For me it's kind of nostalgia, I love this musical age,” says Kirkwood. - For the first time I realized that I was in fashion when I was 13 or 14 years old. A school teacher came up to me and said that I was a victim - fashion. I remember how shocked I was then, because I myself made a lot of efforts to look like I didn’t do them at all, I spoiled my sweater, making holes for the fingers in my sleeves. I thought it was anti-fashion. "

Some models of the collection have a very original futuristic heel shape. It contains models with a curved line of the heel and heel, which create the impression of a “stooped" shoe. It also has high ankle boots made of soft nappa leather, which wraps around the leg like a glove or a wrinkled translucent organza. As the designer himself noted, in this model he tried to create a smoke effect that, like a veil, covers his leg, a sort of ghostly silhouette.
