Nordstrom, an American multi-brand store of fashionable clothes, shoes and accessories, launches a 24-hour delivery service that allows customers to pick up their online orders right on the sidelines of one of the ten existing Nordstrom stores, Footwearnews writes.
The days before Christmas, which is celebrated in the USA from December 24 to 25, are a hot time for American retailers who seek to attract and serve the maximum number of customers. In pursuit of this goal, Nordstrom is trying to optimize its own delivery system for customers.
So, for eight days from December 16 until Christmas, Nordstrom online shoppers will be able to pick up their online orders at any time of the day by driving their car to one of ten Nordstrom-designated stores located in different cities of the country.
“Customers who placed an order under the“ Bought online, picked up at the store ”scheme can call or write to our service and confirm their order 10 minutes before arriving at the nearest Nordstrom store, after which the Nordstrom employee will take their purchase directly to their car,” described the scheme of the new service in the press service of the company.
The introduction of the Store Pick-up Service will help Nordstrom compete with online giants like Amazon in the peak pre-holiday season. The company does not exclude that the service can be extended until the end of the year, if it turns out to be sufficiently in demand.
