New brands on the market

In 2012, 20 new brands entered the Russian market. In the past year, international retailers opened 1,2 thousand stores, which is 30% more compared to 2011. Such data was cited by Andrei Vasyutkin, head of the research department of the consulting company “Shops”.

In the shoe segment, the increase in stores opened by international companies was 21%, in the clothing segment - 33%, and in the accessories segment - 90%.

According to him, the international retail are mostly interested in the area in shopping centers. Here, new stores open 5 times more often than on the streets.

At the same time, about 85% of retailers began working in the Russian market, opening the first stores in Moscow.

As for the regions, the leaders in the arrival of international brands are Ryazan, Samara and Ufa.
