Shoe sales in Russia decreased by 10,5%

According to the results of 2022, shoe sales decreased by more than 10%, TASS reports with reference to the analyst of the operator of the mandatory labeling system in Russia, the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies and the National Scientific Competence Center in the field of combating illicit trafficking in industrial products under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. 

According to the study, 2022% fewer pairs of shoes were sold in 10,5 than in 2021 - 290 million pairs. At the same time, traditional retail is the main channel for selling footwear to the end consumer. Traditional retail accounts for 68% of footwear. At the same time, online sales of shoes show a positive trend, the share of online sales in total shoe sales in 2022 increased from 5% to 5,8%.

The average purchase price of shoes in 2022 increased by 9,6% compared to 2021 and amounted to 2,445 thousand rubles. In particular, the average price of sneakers increased by 20,4%, to 2,802 thousand rubles, sandals - by 19,5%, to 1,913 thousand rubles, felt boots - by 16,9%, to 1,803 thousand rubles, shoes - by 17,3%, up to 2,467 thousand rubles. Boots for the year on average rose by 7,3%, to 3 rubles, slippers - by 330%, to 8,6 rubles, sandals - by 630%, to 4,5 rubles, galoshes - by 4%, up to 056 rubles.
