Obuv Rossii invests 75 million rubles to develop a network in Tatarstan

In two years, the company plans to expand its chain of stores in the Republic of Tatarstan to 15 retail outlets (10 of them in Kazan) and invest over 75 million rubles in the development of the chain in the region. In early March, Obuv Rossii has already opened its first store in the city of Kazan. The total area of the store is 110 sq. m.

The Republic of Tatarstan is the leader of the Volga Federal District in terms of the number of chain shoe stores. The share of federal shoe retailers of the total number of shoe chains represented in Tatarstan exceeds 60%. The level of competition between networks in the region is quite high. Given this factor and the income level of the population (in Tatarstan, they are among the highest in the region), experts assess the republic’s market as promising from the point of view of shoe retail development.

Kazan is the sixth city in the Volga Federal District, with the shoes of Russia entering the market. Now the Shoe of Russia network in this region has 13 Westfalika stores in cities such as Cheboksary, Yoshkar-Ola, Perm, Berezniki, Izhevsk, Kazan. Since the beginning of the 2011 of the year, Obuv Rossii has already opened one new store each in Cheboksary, Izhevsk, and Berezniki. Obuv Rossii Group of Companies is a federal shoe retail company, one of the ten largest shoe retailers in Russia. It develops two networks - Westfalika (mono-brand, mid-price shoes) and Pedestrian (economy network), as well as the brand of inexpensive youth shoes Emilia Estra. To date, 123 store companies (including franchising) operate in 43 cities of Siberia, the Urals and central Russia. The company's net revenue in 2010 amounted to 1,6 billion rubles.
