Russian Footwear swallows Rossita

The Novosibirsk group of companies Obuv Rossii has acquired 100% of the Rossita shoe company, which owns the Rossita and Lisette retail brands operating in the mid-price segment. In total, Rossita, founded in 1992 and one of the leaders in the footwear market in the Ural-Siberian region, operates 83 stores, of which 42 are franchised. As a result of the transaction, the number of Obuv Rossii stores increased to 430, and the company became one of the three largest shoe retailers in Russia. Taking into account the fulfillment of the plan for store openings, by the end of the year the number of the group's outlets should reach 460.

“Now the level of consolidation in the mid-price segment of the footwear market is 6% - this is what the top 8 largest footwear chains account for. And our task is to become an integrator company in this segment, by consolidating it, - said the director of the Obuv Rossii group, Anton Titov. - The acquisition of Rossita is the implementation of our multi-format retail strategy. Rossita operates two recognizable brands with a large audience of loyal customers, in addition, the price segment in which the company operates coincides with ours. As a result of the transaction, the portfolio of footwear brands of our company will increase to six. We will replicate the Rossita and Lisette brands throughout the country. Expanding the brand portfolio will allow us to increase the market capacity for our company to 3 stores. "

The Obuv Rossii group of companies owns Westfalika, Pedestrian and Emilia Estra shoe chains. The company's revenues in 2013 amounted to 4,9 billion rubles, net profit - 574 million rubles. The revenue plan for 2014 is more than 9 billion rubles.
