In the 2015 year, GEOX goes to a new level and signs an agreement with the German concern TÜV SÜD (Technische Überwachungs-Verein, "Association for Technical Supervision"), the world's largest expert engaged in independent examination and certification of products.
Under the agreement, TÜV SÜD conducts an independent examination and testing of GEOX men's, women's and children's shoes for substances that are harmful to human health and harmful to flora and fauna.
The 2016 / 17 fall-winter shoe collections passed the first test and certification. All items were checked for the following substances:
heavy metals (lead, cadmium, chromium VI, nickel);
coatings (formaldehyde, perfluorinated compounds);
dyes (azo dyes, disperse dyes);
plasticizing additives (chlorinated short chain paraffins, phthalates);
detergents (alkynophenols);
preservatives (chlorinated phenols, tin compounds, dimethyl fumarate);
non-combustible substances (PAHs);
smells.
The result of TÜV SÜD certification can now be seen in all GEOX stores - models that have successfully passed the toxic substances test are marked with a special TÜV SÜD Footwear Mark.
The company plans to conduct over 2 million GEOX shoe tests annually. Tests will be held for all commodity units of men's, women's and children's shoes.
